Morley Hoppner led the construction of the Switzer on Main development, which consists of a 66,000 sq. ft., four-storey apartment building with commercial units on the ground floor and three floors of residential units above, complete with below- and at-grade parking.
The completed building includes a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with a rooftop amenity space, and in total features 43 rental units in addition to the retail space.
The building supports and contributes to an active frontage along Stittsville Main Street, with glazing and articulation of the building façade and the potential for small commercial patio spaces, while the fourth floor is stepped back to diminish the building's impact to the streetscape. Delivered under a construction management contract, with Morley Hoppner providing both preconstruction and construction services, the project was completed successfully in 2022.
