Stonemont Retirement Lifestyle Community

Morley Hoppner led the construction of the Stonemont Retirement Lifestyle Community project, a large-scale seniors and retirement living facility. The project involved the demolition of the existing industrial buildings on the property and the construction of a new, six-storey retirement home and senior’s apartment complex, containing a total of 327 units over 310,000 sq. ft.

The building design featured three distinct yet interconnected portions, consisting of various levels of care and assisted living options ranging from completely independent residential units, to higher levels of assisted living and daily medical care. This is a place where people can choose from the total independence of lifestyle apartments, all-inclusive apartments with hospitality services included, the enhanced care of supportive living apartments, or short-term accommodations for respite stays. Units range from studios to one- and two-bedroom suites, along with amenities that include 9’ ceilings, spacious dining facilities, an indoor pool, a bar/bistro, a theatre, a golf simulator, a beauty salon, and underground parking. In total, the project includes 164 vehicle parking spaces located above- and below-grade, as well as 112 spaces for bicycle parking, with two vehicle access and egress points along Cummings Avenue. The project is being delivered under a construction management contract, with Morley Hoppner providing both preconstruction and construction services.
