Our close-knit team is growing, and we’re seeking to add an Estimator who can positively contribute to our vision of enhancing city neighbourhoods.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our accounting team on a part time basis working Monday – Wednesday from 8am – 5pm. Reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate will manage and process payroll, and the administration of employee pension and benefits for our growing workforce in Ottawa. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll legislation, regulations and tax compliance.

Duties

  • Accurately process a weekly Union payroll and a bi-weekly Non-union payroll for employees in Ottawa.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation as well as the Union Collective Agreement.
  • Ensure timely delivery of payroll services for approximately 75 employees.
  • Administer payroll for all staff, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions and prepare Records of Employment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, tax regulations, and payroll standards in Ontario.
  • Perform payroll related reconciliations for year end and audit purposes.
  • Manage staff enrolment in the company Group RRSP pension and benefit plans.


What Your Bring

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario/Canadian payroll legislation and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Experience in the construction industry is an asset
  • Experience with Viewpoint software is an asset.
  • Canadian professional payroll designation is an asset.
